Data Centers of Towngas
I.  Project Overview
Data centers of Towngas are located in five cities in China: Dalian, Dongguan, Ji’nan, Hong Kong and Harbin. These data centers are built for data information processing and software outsourcing.
The current job in progress is TGT YIDA Data Service (Dalian) Co., Ltd., locating in Yida Ecological Technology Park at Ganjingzi District, Dalian City. This job will cover a site area of about 12,780 m2 with total building area of about 15,990 m2, 1.26 floor area ratio, 30% building density, 35% green area ratio and 25 parking spaces. The data center will have four floors. Height of each floor is 5.2 meters. Floor area is 15,660 m2. The underground fire-pump room outside the data center and pool occupy 330 m2.

II.  Load Demand
1. Data center has a higher demand on air conditioning system which traditional air cooled chillers are unable to meet. The new chillers must be able to provide a desirable ambient temperature and humidity for the data center in a long, sustained and stable way.
2. Design load is 3,600 RT.

III.  Solutions
1. Model Selection
6 MS0762 Flooded Oil-free Centrifugal Chillers. Total cooling capacity is
6×600RT = 3,600RT
2. Equipment Operation Scheme
24/7 operation based only on the capacity required by the system load to achieve pead efficiency in part load conditions

IV.  Advantages
1. 2A ultra-low starting current and soft-start which have small impact on the power grid;
2. Energy-efficient oil-free system: IPLV 11;
3. Fewer parts, simpler structure and greater reliability;
4. Lower maintenance costs;
5. Operates only the capacity required by the system load to achieve the best part load efficiency.
